Gisu word meaning children. UBWANA Uganda is a National NGO that was established in 2021 that empowers communities so that they can improve conditions of the children. It seeks to address issues of vulnerable children; empower communities to cope up with vulnerability. It also empowers communities to copy up with marginalization of children.

UBWANA UGANDA is aimed at having sustainable oriented activities like Community empowerment, research and data collection, child rights and advocacy, capacity building, women empowerment as a gesture to eradicate abject/ absolute poverty, a community free of discrimination, free community with equal opportunities for all children and their families including routine and collective community participation in decision making especially through bottom up and top down participation approach at all levels

Mission

UBWANA UGANDA is committed to the sustainable mechanisms of addressing issues of the children. The organization shall be devoted to enhance and transforming the community where issues of children will be addressed. The organization shall attempt to address the issues of poverty that are responsible for the vulnerability of children in society. It will attempt to entirely eradicate abject poverty and its associated diseases [STDs] among children and their families through promoting HIV/AIDS control and prevention mechanisms , primary health care , psycho social rehabilitation, education sponsorship in terms of fees, scholastic and non-scholastic materials, capacity building, research and data collection, child advocacy through networking and making partnership with associated non-government organization [NGOs], collective visioning and concerted action among distinctive actors

have been geared towards fighting the problem of
child sexual abuse. UBWANA Uganda will achieve this
through raising awareness on the problem of child
sexual abuse, empowering children and communities
as well as advocating for child friendly laws, policies
and programs to comprehensively address the
problem
